2010 Ann Arbor Street Fair Poster
It's Art Fair Time - hot weather, thunderstorms and art. We just finished mounting 100 posters for the AASAF merchandise booth from this years featured artist Mark Traughber. Based in Pittsburgh, PA, Mark is the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair's 2010 Featured Artist. Mark studied Sociology and Studio Art at Western Kentucky University, and he combines these two fields of study in his drawings by exploring the way that personal identity operates within social and cultural systems.
As this year's Featured Artist, Mark's original artwork will be featured on all Street Art Fair souvenirs including t-shirts, bags and ball caps, as well as the official 2010 poster:
ON HIS POSTER DESIGN:
"The artwork for the poster design is a mixed media piece incorporating drawing, painting and image transfer. The rabbit is an image that has appeared frequently in my work, as it is of a doll from my childhood. In creating the poster design, I wanted to use elements and imagery that were fairly representative of my artwork in general, and that had a strong and attractive graphic presence. Plus I just thought it would be cool to have my rabbit put on a poster."
We agree - it is cool to have his rabbit on the poster. View more of Mark's art on his website: www.bloodle.com
